Totally Screwed by Judge Philpot - Lexington KY
Blogging is totally new to me so bear with me. I have set up this blog as a clearing house for comments from other individuals, male or female, who feel they received a raw, unfair deal in Judge Tim Philpot's Family Court in Lexington KY. I have been totally destroyed financially by this Judge's archaic rulings in my divorce. While my ex-wife's inherited or gifted items were set aside, mine were divided right down the middle. I have been saddled with paying an amount of maintenance that you would think a millionaire, which I am not, certainly after he got through with me, would be paying. $2000. dollars a month for life. Life you say, well, would you give up $2000. a month to draw $400. of social security? This a woman who had many job skills, had finished a professional training class but not passed the exam as yet. In calculating my maintenance, Judge Philpot sees fit to lower my ex's earning ability by over 1/3rd and damn near doubles mine. This difference is used to come up with the unbelievable amount of $2000. per month. Including equity payouts I must earn $40,000 extra per year to meet this excessive ruling. To top all that off he made me pay to date over $23,000 dollars of her attorney fees. Even though she went through two that could not deal with her craziness and finally hired a firm that a partner played a role in selecting this Judge to fill the family court position. Talk about stinking. Not only that, My ex's pastor, who himself was later run out of town, also was on the committee that selected Philpot. I also have had to put up with condescending remarks made by him both in court and in his official findings papers. Let's all compare notes and work toward getting this guy off the bench.

I have been there and worse. In fact so have a number of people. What I can't understand is why he has not been removed after so many complaints to the Judicial Conduct Commission. Something is very fishy and you are absolutely right: He needs to be restrained before he damages any more families.
I HAVE A HORRIBLE STORY.. MY FAMILY AND I LIVE IN GEORGIA.... MY KIDS WENT HOME ON VISIT TO KY AND JUDGE PHILPOT GAVE THE GRANDMA OF MY KIDS CUSTODY...... WITHOUT ME KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT IT! THE FRIEND OF THE COURT HELPED HER TO DO IT!!!! AND WE HAVE BEEN IN GA FOR 2 YEARS! THEY ARE TRYING TO NOW MAKE ME PAY CHILD SUPPORT ALTHOUGH DAD IS BEHIND 6000. PHILPOT IS SUPPOSE TO BE A MINISTER THAT PRAYS OVER CASES.... MAYBE IT IS PREYS INSTEAD OF PRAYS!! HOWEVER I KNOW GOD WILL HAVE THE LAST AND FINAL SAY SO IN THE MATTER
Want to get this right-wing 1950's "Leave it to Beaver"-era nut out of office? His re-election is Nov 2nd, make sure you get the word out to as many people as possible to go down and vote him OUT!!
It sounds to me like your just pissed because he made a fair ruling. Mr Philpot has jumped my butt a couple times in family court but for good reason. I do have to pay a large amount of money that I really can't afford, but I know that as a father that is my responsibility and I will do what I have to. Maybe you should take a view at your own life and how you look at things, as it seems the only people who gripe about these things are the ones who wanted to destroy the mother/wife in the first place.
The world is not fair, but Mr. Philpot would not award money and rulings in her favor unless she deserved it.

i know this is an old post but you are full of it. He has made numerous irrational decisions. He has been rude and condescending. He rules in favor oif one atty always. He doesn't seem to care if he is hurting people financially. FYI, child support was not put in place to have people living luxurious lifestyles.
social workers are given immunity within state courts and this allows them to get away with actions that put them above the law. they are given way to much power into the lives of families and the ability to destroy the natural family function. that is what happened to me. my story and situation is one that would seem to come from a scripted movie. I would not have believed what was happening to me, if I had not been living it and seeing it first hand. I don't blame people for not believing me cause it is truly unbelievable but before you accuse or form your own conclusion, type away with accusations, let me say that I refused to give up and tuck my tail between my legs and fought back. as the life I had once known flashed before my eyes reading Judge Philpot decision to terminate my parental rights, many words I used to describe this man bypassed the filter from my brain to my mouth, none was all to nice. I was not going to just let whom ever it was to blame get away with legally kidnapping my daughter. I started utilizing every right I had and filed motions all the while researching everything. I uncovered enough that when presented to Philpot he saw or maybe assumed something wasn't right with my case and granted me another hearing. with all the research I was doing into the codes , laws, rules of an investigation, I discovered that Judge Philpot was not to blame though he handed down the decisions. He was manipulated and taken advantage of just like me. He also trusted that the DCBS were doing their jobs and doing it professionally and not once thinking they world be or could be operating outside of the laws. He trusted that the information put in front of him was truthful, detailed, thorough and by the books. that is the info he is to make his decisions on and just like when dealing with your car, one malfunctioned part will cause your car to run like crap, when there is one corrupt person within the system, it trickles down onto everyone and every other aspect of the process. the Judge and I both were used, manipulated and toyed with. It was not his fault tampered evidence was placed in front of him and after my next hearing, all the research and investigating I have done these past 2 years, will prove that I was not at fault for this either. I was given a chance to prove this to the judge, I was given the opportunity to expose this worker for the scum she is and my daughter and I will be reunited again. I am grateful for this hearing and for judge Philpot, but most importantly, I have a chance, despite all efforts exhausted by the DCBS, to show my daughter that I did not abandon her, I did not just move on with my life and forget about her, that she is the most prized thing/person in my entire life. she is my teammate, my bestfriend, and my hero. I will, would, and have go head to head with the biggest beast you could imagine to protect her. It is for my daughter that I breath. it is her whom gives me purpose and she is worth everything I have endured on this journey and until she is made aware of this, I will not give up until this worker is brought to justice so she can o longer abuse her power and destroy our families, and my child is cuddled safely next to me, her mother, each night.
